Chlorophyll Explained: The reason why plants are geen

What is Chlorophyll? Chlorophyll is a green or a closely related green pigment found in cyanophyta (bacteria) & chloroplasts of algae & plants. It plays a key role in photosynthesis, enabling plants to absorb energy from light. It reflects the green & near-green portions of the spectrum thus producing the green color of chlorophyll-containing tissues.
